Juan Carlos CASTRO
Juan Carlos was born in Mexico and has lived in New York for over 20 years. As a Creative Director with over 15 of experience specializing in fashion, beauty and luxury brands, Juan Carlos’ passion focuses on strategic storytelling with an eye and heart for the iconic, global-minded and fearlessly innovative.
In 2018 he joined R/GA as Creative Director of Coty accounts Clairol and Wella. Before that he spent 4 years at Grey New York as lead Creative Director on Gillette Venus and Braun, following some time on Pantene and Cover Girl. Previously, he spent 7 years as Creative Director of Vogue Studio, U.S. Vogue magazine’s in-house creative agency, leading a team to produce targeted national and global advertising, integrated campaigns and branded content for various Condé Nast clients, including L’Oréal, Cointreau, Valentino, H&M and Cadillac, among others.
Besides a long and rich carreer in advertising, he has simultaneously worked in the field of editorial fashion, acting as contributing editorial Creative Director for Vogue Mexico and Harper's Bazaar Turkey and Taiwan since 2013.
But Juan Carlos is an artist at heart. Having attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, his studio practice focuses on mixed media collage, video and performance art. He has been part of multiple group and solo exhibitions in New York, Boston and Mexico City.
